A long time coming

I know I am the worst blogger ever! I have had people nagging me to update for months now. Well here I am finally posting something new. In October we moved into our new house! Yes we did it! We bought a house. Who knew it would be so much work to buy a house? We are enjoying having our own home. Brian is looking forward to having his own yard this spring! We are now living in West Jordan. Our house has 4 beds and 2 bathrooms it is an older home, the previous owners put a lot of work into updating though. We are enjoying our new ward and have already been put to work. I am in the primary and Brian is the Elders quorum teacher. Here are some photos. We would love to have you come visit and see it for yourself.

In other news....We are excited to announce that we are expecting a BABY! That's right, its a good thing we have a bigger house because our little one is coming the end of June! We are very excited!! We will be finding out at the end of January if it is boy or a girl. We had a wonderful Christmas and a great 2009 and we are excited for the adventures that await us in 2010!!

Dead blog

So I am sure my blog has been moved to Kelsey's "Dead blog" list! I have been such the slacker. I promise that we have had a life this summer, just no time to blog about it. So here are some highlights from our summer....

TEXAS BABY!
We went to Texas in July for the Taggart family reunion. We had a fantastic time! It can get kind of crazy when all of Brian's siblings and their children get together but there is never a dull moment! Texas was pretty cool, I had never been before. We were excited to see the Alamo and check out the basement! I am sorry to inform you all that there is no basement in the Alamo and sorry Wendy we didn't find your bike! Ha ha ha We spent most of our time kicking it at the pool, playing games, relaxing and having fun with the family. After the reunion we stayed a few extra days to take in some more fun! We went to Six flags where I must say I was super brave! I went on all the rides and didn't chicken out once! Then we went to Schlitterbahn. We had seen Schlitterbahn on TV some count down of the best water parks in the U.S. It was pretty sweet, it was super packed we waited in a lot of lines. Overall we had a great trip. Thanks to Doug and Jen who planned an awesome reunion. The scary thing is we are in charge of it in two years! Any ideas?

This is the River walk in San Antonio its cool the river just runs right through the city.

Us at the Alamo, Can you say ADOBE?!

House hunting-
This is how we spent much of our summer. We were out looking at houses almost every night after work. I tell ya I never thought it would be sooo much work! We saw some pretty scary stuff out there! However we did find something we liked. We should be closing the end of this week or the first of next week. I will have to post pictures after we have moved and it is all official!

St. George!
We made a trip to St. George with my family over Labor day weekend. Super fun! We went and saw Annie at Tuacahn. I loved it! I sometimes think I missed my calling in life, I so wanted to hop on stage and sing and dance with all the actors! Oh well maybe in the next life! We went boating on Saturday I even tried my hand at knee boarding! It was lots of fun. Its always nice to get away for a quick trip. Tracy was much better at taking pictures than I was so one of these days I will get some of them from her.

That is pretty much the excitement of our summer! I apologize for my slacking and will try to do better!

Happy Birthday Tracy!

I just want to wish my sister Tracy a Happy Birthday! I don't know her password so I can't break into her blog like she did to me. Tracy is an awesome sister. She is so crafty, stylish, fun, hip and cool she has always known whats cool. I remember when I was little wanting to know all the cool songs like Tracy did. ("Can we listen to the tick tock song?") I only knew who new kids on the block were because of her. She always has cute clothes and knows how to make everything look cute! She is a master craft lady and can make the coolest stuff. Maybe one day I will be as cool as she is. Thanks for being so awesome Tracy! I love you mucho and am so thankful to call you my sister!

Look what I can do!

Our ward is having a cake auction/bake sale tonight to raise money for the youth. I had grand plans of making a delicious cake, however I waited until the last minute and then realized just how much work the cake was going to take. So I had to change my plans. I decided on cupcakes but I didn't want boring regular cupcakes. So I pulled out my cake decorating kit (Thank you Wendy!) and this is what I made. I was really excited how they turned out. Food network cake challenge here I come.

I thought this was a good picture for this blog because Vanessa will be celebrating a birthday this week so I just want to say Hooray for Vanessa! She is one awesome lady! Love ya Vanessa.

*Now I tag Kelsey, Kellie, Julie, Vanessa,Tracy, Wendy and anyone that just needs to update their blog! Have fun!

Tulip Festival 2009

We headed out to the Tulip festival at Thanksgiving point this weekend. We were excited to go on Saturday because they were having a Dutch day. So Despite the rain we headed out. We had a great time! My Mom and Dad came and Wendy and Tracy. It was pretty rainy but it calmed down for most of the time we were there. They didn't have much in the way of the Dutch festival but we enjoyed all the beautiful tulips. Tracy is not in any of the pictures because she was feeling a little sleepy after her red eye flight home from Hawaii! (poor Tracy right?!) We were glad that she came despite her sleepyness. Notice how brian looks like a giant in the group picture. Kinda funny. I wish my legs looked as good as they do in the second picture down! A girl can wish right!?

Holi Festival of Colors

Chalk or Church!?

So I was faced with a dilemma recently. You see this Saturday is a day filled with fun things. #1 it is the Annual Hari Krishna festival of colors! This is an amazing festival where you go and everyone throws colored chalk at each other. Even perfect strangers will come up to you and throw a handful in your face. It is a great time! We have been twice. We missed last year and were looking forward to this year. #2 Saturday also happens to be the YW General mtg. Our ward has tickets to go to the conference center. So I had to choose Chalk or Church!!? and the winner is.......Church! I am sad to miss the festival yet again but I figure I should be participating in my own religion before a different one. I am looking forward to going to the conference and hearing from our Prophet and other leaders. So if any of you are not busy Saturday night and you don't have callings in the YW organization you should head down to Spanish Fork for some good times! Say hi to the Llamas for me! See the video on the next post for more info...

I am so blessed!

I just want to send out a BIG thank you to all my friends and family! (even those that break into blogs) Yesterday was a fantastic day. I was humbled by all the text messages, facebook messages, blog posts, phone calls, serenades, heart attacks and surprise gifts that came my way. I was reminded of how blessed I am. I belong to an amazing family. I have parents that love me and have taught me how to live the gospel. I have siblings that are constantly there for me and always have been. I married an amazing man who loves me despite my craziness and in marrying him I gained an even bigger family of amazing people. My friends are incredible people that have been such great influences in my life. Thank you thank you! I thank my Heavenly Father daily for blessing me with each of you!

Surprise!

It is my favorite sisters birthday! She has no idea that I am leaving her this special birthday post! I just happen to know her password and couldn't pass up the opportunity to make sure all her friends know! I know this picture is really dark, but I still had to post! I would be that ragga-muffin kid holding little baby Billie! Our family is SO lucky to have her.
As many of you know she came to us just a few months after our dad Bill passed away. She brought us lots of joy at a difficult time and continues to makes us laugh all the time with her great sense of humor. I think she has the biggest heart of anyone I know, she would do anything for anyone, and without having to think twice! I am getting teary just trying to put into words how special she is, but if you are friends with her then you already know! Happy Birthday Billie! I love you lots and lots! I can't imagine how different our family would be with out you! Thanks for being so wonderful!

You know it is cold when.....

Your car is frozen shut like a giant block of ice! I went to leave for work this morning, tried to open my driver side door and nothing! FROZEN!!! I attempted to continue pulling but no luck! So I tried all the other doors on the car...FROZEN! WHAT?! So I ran inside filled a pitcher full of HOT water (Thank goodness our landlords turned the water heater up so high that our hot water is pretty much boiling strait from the tap) I then poured the hot water on my car door and watched it all melt away. Worked like a charm. I am done with winter!

Change things up a litte.....

I received a new calling at church yesterday! I have spent the past 2 years teaching in primary and I have loved it. I have had the CTR 5 class, I love that age the 4 year old that are turning 5. I love being in primary and love the spirit that is there. I am always amazed at the things the kids know and how strong their testimonies are. However yesterday was my last Sunday teaching primary and I will now be going to Young Womens. WOW! It has been awhile since I have been to young womens lets see maybe since I was a young woman! I am the 2nd councilor and will be with the beehives. I am feeling a little overwhelmed and a little nervous. I am sure it will be fun and I will probably learn more from the girls than they will from me. I am thankful for callings and the opportunity to serve my Heavenly Father. I know that he loves me and that he knows what is best for me. I pray that I can fulfil this calling in a way that would be pleasing to him. Wish me luck!
