I heard someone refer to May as Maycember.....I thought it was fitting. May is packed with all the end of year festivities and we have been busy, busy, busy!
Mother's day....I didn't get many pictures but we had a lovely day. Ava picked the perfect shirt to wear, the kids spoiled me with all the cute cards and notes, and we enjoyed dinner at Tiffany and Nathan's where the kids were crazy heads. I am so thankful to be a mom. It is The Hardest thing I have ever done. Somedays it consumes me, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I hope that my kids know that I really do love them! Even if some days it might not seem like it.
Ava participated in her school's Jr. Choir. She stayed after school 2x a week for 3 months. They performed their version of Your A Good Man Charlie Brown. It was a fun show and Ava did fantastic. If you ask me, she was the cutest Woodstock there!
Lyla had a preschool field trip to Wheeler Farm. It started out with a few sprinkles and then the sun came out.
Finn had his 3rd grade wax museum. He was Pele. He has loved learning about Pele and had decided long ago that that is who he wanted to be for the museum. He did a great job!
These girls loved meeting "Queen Elizabeth"
Benny made a fantastic Walt Disney...
Sadie had her spring dance recital. She has really enjoyed dance this year, and she did a wonderful job in her recital. She even earned a banana split party for learning to do her splits! Way to go Sadie! Lots of family and friends came to watch.
Grandma Claudia had shoulder replacement surgery. We stopped by for a visit. Sadie said she was "Mourning with those who mourn" as she tucked her arm in her shirt and placed icepacks on her own shoulder. Then when Lily arrived she joined in the mourning. I am pretty sure Grandma appreciated their sympathy.
I got to go with Ava's class to the Bean Museum at BYU. We had a fun time. There are some pretty cool animals there. I survived the long bus ride with lots of 1st graders.
Ava had her 1st grade celebration. She was given the Strong Arm award, for always having her hand raised to answer questions.
Sadie had a cultural fair in her class. Is she not the cutest little Dutch girl you ever did see?
Poor Lyla has been sick. She spent most of a week sleeping. Poor girl had to miss her preschool celebration. She was pretty bummed about it.
I am seriously so done having sick kids. I think I have had someone sick at least once every month of the year so far. Hopefully the germs are now down circling through our house.

We went to visit cemeteries for Memorial Day. It was a rainy weekend, luckily the sun came out for a minute on Saturday so we went over with Grandma Terry and Grandpa Roger. I am so thankful for those family members that have gone before us. I know that they are not there at the cemeteries, but I am thankful for the opportunities it gives us to talk about these people to our children and also to speak of the resurrection and the plan of salvation.
On Memorial Day we headed out on a hike to Ensign Peak. We didn't get rained on, but man was it MUDDY! We still had a good time. The views were fantastic and the temperatures were perfect. I think we will always remember this hike.
We all rode home in the car with no shoes on....
Random May....
One day our power was out from 10am-6pm...turns out we got a new transformer put in our yard. The previous one had been underground and now they only use above ground. I hope the crew didn't mind as we sat and watched from the front porch.
1st grade had a chalk party day....
This girl has been obsessed with helping wash the dishes...
Spring park day with cousins after preschool...
I have been checking the girls out this year for lunch with me. Finn never wanted to be checked out because he didn't want to miss recess. So one night after soccer we snuck out for an ice cream date. I love spending one on one time with them.
snow cones at Grandma Terry's
I had to snap a picture of these two boys! They look so grown up and looked cute all matchy on our way to school one morning.
Lyla with her friend Zachary. They are such good little friends.
Finn got to learn about bees for activity day.
Lyla and Dad working on a puzzle...
Ava labeling her drink in the fridge. I think this means she is ready for college.
Ava had wear Sunglasses to school day....She ended up twinning with her teacher! I am pretty sure this made her day!
Ava with Tracy's dog Bolo...I thought he did a perfect smile for the camera.
Finn and Beck got to go with Wendy for their Aunt Wendy day. They went to Rush...a fun place with foam pit, go carts, climbing wall, laser tag and such, and then dinner at Wendy's. They had a blast!
Now we are on to the last week of school. I am not sure I am ready for summer (I know I say that every year) I just hope I can keep everyone busy and from hitting each other.
