June 2023

The last day of school!

Ava finished 2nd grade. She really liked her teacher, Mrs. Smith and she learned a lot! Mrs Smith has taught 3/4 kids now. We will see if Lyla gets her one day too.

Finn rocked the 4th grade. He was happy to be in class with Benny and had an awesome teacher, Mrs. McOmie. How is he going to 5th grade?

He was given an award for being a math wiz.

Sadie finished the 7th grade and her first year of Jr. High. She did so great this year and she has a fun group of friends.

She was surprised when she was awarded student of the year for Utah Studies. She did enjoy that class and her teacher. Way to go Sadie!

After school we headed to see the new Little Mermaid movie with our Taggart family. Aunt Natalie was in town from Texas. We really enjoyed the movie.

Later that weekend we were able to gather all together with the Taggart side for dinner at Todd and Julie's. We finally got to meet Lewis and Ezra! The cutest twin boys you ever did see. Brittany and Devin just adopted them and there is no shortage of love for these cute boys. There may have been a little fighting over who got to hold the next. We had the Coopers visiting from TX, Bre visiting from Rhode Island, and Lexie Taggart visiting from TX. It is always fun when this group gathers together.

We cashed in good grades for free donuts at Krispy Kream donuts. YUM!!!

We made some cute clay creations at the library.

We hit up the pool a few times. This June has been surprisingly cool with thunderstorms most afternoons.  That doesn't seem to stop these kids and swimming.

I was excited to be able to just sit and watch and not get in the pool. Too cold for me!

We were able to go to the open house of the Saratoga Springs Temple. It was so beautiful! I love when I can be in the temple with my family. We are looking forward to several more open houses in our neighborhood soon.  To make it even better, our friends the Evans were visiting from Montana and we were able to meet them there.

On Sunday we had dinner at Grandma Terry's with The Evans. We recreated this photo from 8 years ago.

and there was lots of crazy shenanigans.

The photo we will recreate in another 8 years.

The next day we went to The Kennecott Copper Mine. It was so school to see. We live so close and drive by all the time but had never been.  It was very interesting.

The next day Finn, Ava, Lyla and I went to This Is The Place Heritage Park for their free admission. The kids always have a fun time there. We met up with our friends, the Rex while we were there.

Sadie went to Oakcrest camp and she had so much fun! even if she did sprain her ankle.

I was able to go to a Relief Society retreat at the Hansen's Cabin near Park City. We went for a walk Saturday morning and the scenery was amazing!

Happy Father's Day to our favorite! Brian is the best. We are so lucky he is ours.

Sadie ran a Summer Camp to try and earn some money. She had quite the turn out and they had a fun time. They played games, made crafts, played play dough, read books, and played in the water. It was a success,  there might even be a second session.

We went glow golfing as a family...

Our primary did a glow party.
Let your light shine was our theme. The kids had fun playing glow in the dark games, a dance party, and making bracelets out of UV glowing beads.

Finn has been saving his pennies to buy a RSL jersey. He finally had enough and was so excited to get to go buy it!

handsome boys after church..

Finn has been practicing soccer with his new team with the AJAX soccer club. He is happy any time he gets to play soccer.

Cute Oliver!

Sadie had a Birthday! I can't believe she is 13! She had a good day despite Mom being sick. Luckily dad had taken the day off to help her paint and change her room up. Sadie has grown by leaps and bounds this year. I love seeing who she is becoming. She is a good kid and we are lucky she is ours Happy Birthday, Sadie!

She had a fun little swim party with a few of her besties at the pool.

Our family got hit hard at the end of the month with sickness YUCK! Everyone took a turn being sick, but I think I got hit the hardest. Covid plus strep throat about killed me! I was knocked out for a good week! It was no fun! Especially while Brian was gone to YM camp. The Mom should never get sick!
