School continues....
Sadie enjoying some sun while working on school
Ava has had lots of fun doing preschool at home. Mostly with Dad when he is home working from home. Grandma Claudia shared lots of fun preschool things that have kept her busy.
We have spent so much time outside. Thankfully the weather has been so fantastic! One new thing we tried was chalk mosaics. We had lots of fun with these. Finn especially enjoyed it and did 4 in one day!
two girls cozy for a walk in the wagon...
One new accessory around her are face masks. My awesome friend Kelsey made masks for our family. Is Lyla not the cutest in her little mask? We really only need them when we go out in public places and well, we don't really go out in public much, but we are prepared. I am not sure Lyla would keep it on if we really needed her to.
We had General Conference at the first of the month. We love conference, even if it wasn't very reverent. This years conference was very different as it was not held in the conference center and only the speakers for that session were in the room where they recorded. I am thankful for a living prophet who leads and guides us through this crazy world. I know that as we follow their council we will be blessed.
During the Saturday night session Brian and I tried to watch quietly in our room on the computer while the kids watched a show down stairs. Most of the kids cooperated....
Easter was a little different this year. We were sad that we couldn't do our annual Taggart family egg hunt. Aunt Andrea and her kids were so nice to come do a surprise egg hunt for our kids. They came and hid eggs in our backyard and the kids got to hunt! So much fun and it was super nice to be able to see them (even if it was 6' apart). We miss all of our extended family.
Easter Egg coloring...
I have some friends that are trying to adopt and to raise money for adoption were doing Easter egg hunts for people. I paid them to come hide eggs Friday night. It was fun to wake up Saturday morning and as the kids looked out the window they noticed the eggs. It was a fun hunt.
Wendy and Sanne sent a fun care package....
It is not Easter without resurrection rolls...
The Easter Bunny came and brought lots of fun treats and 2 new games for the family, Tenzi and Clue.
We also got window markers that have been really fun.
I am so thankful for the reason we celebrate Easter! I got thinking this year that Easter is my favorite holiday. I am so thankful for my Savior and his sacrifice for me. I know that because the tomb was empty on the 3rd day, no matter what I am facing today there is hope! I know that my redeemer lives, what comfort this sweet sentence gives!
Easter Sunday also happened to be our niece/cousin Katie's birthday. They organized a drive by birthday parade (these are quite the thing in these interesting times). We had fun dressing up and driving by to wish her a happy birthday!!
Being home together so much has meant lots more time to play together. It also means lots more time for fighting, but lets just focus on the positive. The kids built a big fort to play in. It always makes me happy when they play together happily.
lots of craft time! Ava loves any chance she gets to paint.
Beck sent Finn a note in the mail.
Sadie made a corona virus poster just for fun...
lots of bike rides...
So much soccer!!! I have never played so much soccer in my life! If you will play soccer with Finn he is a happy boy! Definitely missing spring soccer!
It was 43 degrees outside and the girls thought it was the perfect conditions for playing in the water. I think they are crazy, but they are happy!
The ward council did a parade through the neighborhood to reach out to the ward. The kids had a fun time riding in the back of the truck. Lyla and I stayed home and watched the parade.
The kids are sure missing their teachers. They made these signs for a slideshow the PTA is making.
We went to the school and left chalk messages for the teachers and staff.
The city park had a really cool flag display up. flags from all around the world! We printed off a bingo sheet and went and drove around and tried to find all of the flags on our paper. One thing that has been so interesting through this whole Covid 19 pandemic is to think how it is affecting the entire world! We really are "all in this together."
The kids were excited to see the Iowa state flag since Aunt Tracy and Uncle Mark live there now.
And Montana for our friends the Evens..
The most exciting part of this month was welcoming our new niece!!

She is such a cutie. I am just sad I wasn't able to snuggle her more because of you know...the virus.
We did a fire pit for dinner one night. Hot dogs and S'mores
Sadie made a little hangout in her closet...
The Air Force jets did a fly over the entire state to honor first responders and health care workers that are on the front line. We waited outside to watch them fly over and enjoyed popsicles. I think the kids were a little surprised with how quick it was over.
Finn had to do an animal report for school. He chose to do his report on the snow leopard. He did a great job and learned some interesting facts.
We had a fun come follow me lesson about king Benjamin. The kids made these cute tents as we talk about the people gathering to listen.
another dish sculpture by Finn while on emptying the dishwasher duty...
If dad is on the couch you better believe her has at least one child on his lap...
social distancing is really hard, especially when your friend lives next door with a chain link fence. Ava and Hunter are always talking by the fence and now playing though the fence. So much for 6 feet apart.
Ava twinning with her doll
Mom and Ava
If there is a tree to climb Ava will need to climb it.
Miss Lyla is in the cutest stage. she is talking up a storm and is speaking in full sentences. She is getting more and more bossy and sassy as she grows. She is everyone's favorite and if anyone is ever sad or hurt they all want Lyla hugs to make it better.
Breakfast club
picnic lunch
We have using technology to reach out to family and friends. We played a game of tenzi with Grandma and Grandpa Taggart over zoom and have been video chatting with Wendy. The kids have had some video play dates with friends but it is not the same as real life playing.
Sadie got a bunch of hand me down clothes from Aunt Tiffany. I loved this cute list of outfits to wear....
Finn was supposed to take picture of plants for his class project. Here are some pictures he got of flowers in our yard. I LOVE SPRING!!
cute girls!
Sweet Finn snuggling his new snuggly from Aunt Wendy..
We are safe and healthy and together. These are crazy times to be alive and I am not sure that we will ever return to life as we once new, but I am just thankful for this crazy family of mine and the memories we are making.
