We started August out with a camping trip to Pineview Reservoir with the extended Taggart family. We had such a great time. We were a little worried because we are currently in a drought and we didn't know how much water would be in the reservoir for playing. Luckily it wasn't completely empty, but it was definitely lower than last year! We still had a great time playing games, doing crafts, playing with cousins, hanging out in hammocks and enjoying what was left of the reservoir. Poor Lyla was a little under the weather maybe some kind of stomach bug. She spent a lot of time sleeping on my lap, but still had a fun time.

We checked out a new place with Tiffany's kids and Wendy and Tracy. (Wendy was babysitting Tiff's kids) Kid's Empire was a big hit with all of the kids. A big indoor play place with climbing, sliding and even soccer! The kids had a blast and didn't want to go when we were done. We will definitely have to visit again.

We went to Hannah Taggart's Graduation/going away party. She is headed to the Dominican Republic to teach English. I am sure she is going to do great things!
Lyla got to go on her Aunt Wendy day for her birthday. She didn't say a SINGLE WORD to Wendy while they were out. She told me she had a great time.

Ava also got to go on her Aunt Wendy Day. She had a fantastic time and talked much more than Lyla.
For an activity day activity we learned about the Humanitarian Fund and had a service lemonade stand to earn money to donate to the fund. The kids had a great time.
Then the next day everyone else wanted to do a stand....(Sorry neighbors)
We had our last cousin day of the summer at Blackridge Reservoir. The kids love being with cousins.

Back to school we go!
Summer is done and everyone is headed back to school! We sure have had fun this summer. We did so many fun things and made so many memories. We also fought a lot and drove Mom crazy, so school is a welcome change.
Sadie Started 6th grade! She is in Mrs. Johnson's class. How is that possible? I swear she just started kindergarten.
Finn is headed to 3rd grade in Ms. Bair's class

Aunt Julie and I decided we should still have cousin day even though most of the cousins are in school. We had "cousin day with just Hannah and Lyla. It was so fun to enjoy lunch out with them.
Ava turned 6!
Happy Birthday to our Ava. We had a fun day, starting with birthday pancakes, presents, a trip to the store with Grandma Terry, a birthday party with friends and then Chick Fil A for dinner. We love our Ava so much. She is funny, kind, smart and we always call her our peace maker. We are thankful she is party of our family.

Our Niece/ cousin, Beth Ewell got married to Tim Hallmark. We had so much fun at their wedding! The dance party was amazing and the kids had so much fun dancing. We were all surprised to see how our children came alive on the dance floor!

The day after Beth's wedding we had a girls trip with Brian's Mom, sisters and sister in laws. We rented a house and enjoyed a little get away. It was a much needed break and therapy session. The first night we stayed awake until 4AM talking, laughing, and crying together. The next day we enjoyed playing pickle ball, swimming and hot tubbing, painting and then we went to see The Secret Garden at the Hale Center Theatre. It was an amazing weekend and we definitely need to do it again soon. I love each of these ladies and admire them so much! I am thankful I get to call them family.

I hurried home from the girl's trip so that
I could get Lyla off to her 1st day of preschool. She has been so excited to start! She gets to go to school with her best cousin, Liv.

After dropping Lyla off I headed home for a quick nap to try and catch up on some of the missed sleep from this weekend. Well, I ended up sleeping through pick up! OOOPS! Luckily Tiffany was there to get Liv and could just pick up Lyla. I guess we should have slept a little more at the girls trip.
