Lyla got a bath in the famous bath bucket... and boy did she need it!
Brian made this fun tic tac toe game for our backyard.
All of this, All because these two fell in love! They have built a beautiful life and an amazing family.
7-11 day. Free slurpees!
Cow appreciation day at Chick Fil A. We had Sadie's friend Phoenix with us.
Grandma hosted a donut party at her house. She read the kids a story and made them cute donut hats.
Poor Ava had a stomach bug. Luckily it only lasted for about 24 hours.
It was our turn to host the Child's family dinner. We had a fun night, Grandpa did a photo booth that was lots of fun. I think Ava loved it the most, she went back several times. We borrowed a snow cone maker from dad's boss. Sadie loved making snow cones.
Brian celebrated his 43rd birthday. I left for girls camp on his birthday, so we celebrated the night before. We are so lucky to have this guy. I love him so much! He is an amazing father and the best husband. He always knows how to make us laugh and he works so hard to make sure we have the things we need.
Girls camp 2019
I LOVE girls camp and this year was no different. I love these YW and the other leaders. Our theme this year was, "All you need is love" in connection with the mutual theme this year. John 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commandments"
I believe that testimonies are built at girls camp. We have so much fun, but it is such a great opportunity to be away from the world and feel the spirit.
While we were a camp each yw was given a 6x6 card to paint. It was a paint by number style thing. They had no idea what they were making. On the last night the stake unveiled this amazing painting of the Savior with a YW. It was beautiful!
Brian is amazing and stayed home with the kids while I was gone. He even had to take care of Lyla who was up puking one night. I am thankful that he is supportive of me, making it possible for me to enjoy these activities. He sent me this cutest picture while I was gone. I sure missed these kids while I was gone.
A sweet thank you from the yw....
For FHE before the 24th we went to see the parade floats. This is the way to do a parade....up close, air conditioned and no traffic. Then it is fun to watch the parade on TV on the 24th and spot all of the floats that we had seen.
Lyla turned 1
I seriously can't believe how fast this year has gone. This girl is so loved. She is so sweet and happy. She is a speedy little crawler and is getting very close to walking. She has 6 teeth (4 on top and 2 on bottom) She is very friendly and loves to wave at everyone. Her favorite word is mama, she loves to look at books and she wants all the things she can't have. We celebrated her birthday with a little get together with cupcakes and otter pops. We are so thankful we have this sweet little girl in our family.
pretty double rainbow during Lyla's party..
On the 24th we decided to go on a hike. We went to the Temple quarry trail. This is where the pioneers got the granite they used to build the Salt Lake Temple. The kids loved climbing on the huge rocks. We ate lunch by the river and had a lot of fun.
You could see in the rocks where the pioneers had chiseled at the rocks. That was pretty cool!
Trying to take a selfie with this girl proved to be a difficult task. Every time she would turn and look at me instead of at the camera.
That evening we went to Grandma and Grandpa's (Kimber) for a BBQ. We watched a few fireworks that their neighbors were doing and then we went home. Our neighbors had invited us to watch their fireworks so we went over there for a bit. We hadn't been there long when one of their fireworks exploded out the bottom sending fire shooting in all directions. It was pretty scary and it even lit a bush across the street on fire! Luckily no one was hurt. I think we will stick to watching fireworks from a distance from now on.
Cute, messy little girl.
We went to visit Dad at work one day. It actually rained or a minute. After eating lunch with dad we went to city creek to check out the new play area. They changed it from dinosaurs to a Real Salt Lake theme. The kids say the dinosaurs were better, but they had lots of fun playing on the new stuff too. After we were done there, we visited the family history museum for a bit.
The family history museum had a fun little area for the kids to play.
Random July....
Cute Lyla pictures...
She loves to climb! She can climb the stairs (but not go down them) the bunk bed ladder and the outside playhouse ladder.
Sucking on a rock of salt dad brought home from work..
I had a stroke of luck this month. I won 2 giveaways on insta gram! One from Schmidts green house, I won 2 hanging baskets. and then I won a journal edition of The New Testament from deseret book. I told Brian we should take a trip to Vegas or buy a lotto ticket.
The kids have had lots of time playing with friends in the neighborhood. Here Finn and Violet are enjoying a Popsicle.
Ava shopping with me..
We have enjoyed going to summer movies. Although they started out well with Lyla, she has gotten much more restless during the movies. Sometimes this is how She and I enjoy the movie...
We have been going to Grandma Terry's house every Sunday for our come follow me study and dinner. Look at these cute kids singing "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam".
Cutest kids! Brian sent this picture to me while I was at Girls camp, it made my heart happy.
Starting them young working in the garden.
We went out in our pjs one morning to check the garden. I caught this cute picture.
The girls begged me one day to have a cookie sale. They baked chocolate chip cookies and sold them out front. They asked me to post on our neighborhood face book page. They had a successful sale. (Sadie is just playing with the crutches...no injury.)
Just a few more weeks before school starts again. Time to soak up the last of summer!
