December 2022

We started off December with a visit from Sinterklaas!  We always have such a fun time with this tradition.  Brad, Rissa, and Asher came from Seattle and Wendy from St. George.  It made for a fun weekend with lots of time spent together.  I love that we do this every year. I am so thankful for my family members who have gone before us and laid a foundation that we have built on. Everyone was on the good list this year!

Ava 7, Finn 9, Asher 1, Sadie 12

Luke and Jordan Lacroix...

cute Asher talking to the Nutcracker.  Just the same size.

Sadie had her piano recital.  She played The Spinning Song.  She did a nice job.  She enjoys piano and is improving.  Practicing is not her favorite, unless it is what she wants to be playing.

The kids had a skate party at Classic Skate.  They had such a good time.  Lyla scooted around like a pro, Ava wore skates the entire time and loved it, even if she did fall a few times, and Finn loved the scootering with friends. Classic is not my favorite place to go...it just feels crowded, dirty, and loud, but the kids love it!

We went to see Liv's dance recital and when it was over there was a special visit from Mr. and Mrs. C!

If Ava was in a snow globe...

Bunny snuggles before school....

Ava letting Oliver say hi at the kitchen window.

Cutest little elf....

Finn's art work.

Brian and I were lucky to get tickets from his work to the Tabernacle Choir's Christmas concert.  It was amazing!

At our ward party we had two visitors....Santa and the Grinch.

Sadie, Ava, and I were able to go see the Nutcracker with the Taggart girls.  I always love the Nutcracker, and going with these ladies always makes it fun.

Our Taggart family Christmas party was wonderful as always, music, food, and family fun. It was extra exciting as our niece, Beth announced she is expecting a baby!

Finn finished another round of indoor soccer.  This time at Taylorsville rec center.  He had a great time, especially because his friend Benny was on his team.

I volunteered in Finn's class for their Christmas party.  They decorated ice cream cone trees again this year....he didn't want to be in the picture.

We had a surprise visitor stop by our house....

We went to see the candy windows in South Jordan...

Christmas Eve we spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa Taggart's and then we went to Tracy and Mark's house for dinner and games/crafts.

Christmas morning....

Christmas was on  a Sunday this year, so after opening gifts we hurried to 9am church.  It was a lovely meeting filled with beautiful music. Later we gathered at Tiffany and Nathan's for late brunch and gift exchange.

We were gifted tickets to see The Little Mermaid at Hale Center Theatre.  Wow what a show!  Everyone enjoyed it.

For Christmas this year Lyla kept asking for a "Boots snuggly" as in Boots from Dora the explorer.  Dora is not really a current show, but some how Santa came through with a Boots Snuggly!  I had to get a picture of her in her Dora Pjs with her Boots snuggly.

We have had lots of snow this month. (hopefully it will help with our drought) The kids did plenty of playing in it, including some sledding trips.

Cutest shovelers...

For Christmas Grandma Terry and Grandpa Roger gave the kids a trip to Airborne and a pizza party at their house.  The kids had a fun time jumping with cousins.

We had a fun NYE party.  We reserved the church building for dinner and playing.  We had several friends join us, and Tiffany and Nathan, Grandma and Grandpa, and Chris and Nichole Meldrum.  We had lots of yummy food and had fun running around the gym and playing games.  It was really fun and might be a new tradition.

It is hard to believe that another year has come and gone.  We have had a good 2022 and are looking forward to 2023! Happy New Year!
