July 2021

I am exhausted just writing about all the fun things we did this month.  We packed lots of good stuff into July. ...

Uncle Brad and Aunt Rissa came from Seattle!  We were so excited to meet Asher.  He is such a sweet little baby.  We enjoyed a day at the reservoir.  Playing in the sand, paddle boards and kayaks.  When we arrived there were some big dark clouds and some rain drops, but thankfully it passed quickly and we had a great time.

Saturday we celebrated the 4th of July at the Meldrum's.  They always throw a fun party.  This year they had a fun water slide, pinata, water balloons and so much yummy food.

The 4th of July was on a Sunday this year.

We enjoyed a BBQ at Aunt Andrea's house on the evening of the 4th, but I didn't get any pictures.

We went to Lagoon!  It was such a fun day!  We stayed from open to close and did lots of rides.  The kids were all brave and tried new things.  Finn was really into going on the big coasters and joined Brian and the other grown ups on lots of them.

Ava and I had fun exploring Pioneer Village...

Sadie and Ava got to have a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Taggart's with Lily and Brooklyn.  They had so much fun!  They had lots of fun ideas of when they wanted to do, but Grandma also had lots of fun things up her sleeve.  I think they checked everything of their lists and then some.

After picking them up from the sleepover we all headed to see the Giant American Flag that was flying in the Canyon in Pleasant Grove.  I had heard so much about this flag and was excited to check it out.  It was amazing and so beautiful.

Uncle Todd took this picture of the flag when he was on a hike....

We had cousin day at the splash pad....Any time spent with cousins is fun time.

Brian had another birthday!  We love him so much.  I don't know what we would do without him.

After summer movie one day we went with our friends the Gourleys to lunch at Costco and then to see the parade floats at the expo center.  I think everyone's favorite part at the parade floats was driving the bus!

Finn has started a new soccer league.  He is doing the Copper Mountain academy and is really enjoying it.  He is already learning so much.

We have spent lots of days at the pool.   I find that if we stay home we all just go crazy and the fighting gets out of control. When we are out and about things are not perfect, but defiantly less fighting.

We checked out a new park with Tiffany and her kids.

later that night we had a late night at Tiffany's house. The kids called it movie night, but we knew that they wouldn't sit and watch the movie the whole time so Tiffany and I called it a "hang out night"  So that we wouldn't be frustrated when no one was actually watching the movie.

We were right....plenty of crazy fun was had.

We took a fun little get away to Park City.  We stayed 2 nights and did lots of exploring.

The kids were so excited to take a picture by this billboard.  LOL

We did a quick trip to the pool our first night there, but then a thunderstorm rolled in and we had to get out.

We  played games.

The next day we headed to McPolin Barn. to get there we had to go through a tunnel that had some fun murals on the wall.

We were able to walk around the barn and explore and then we went on a little hike up behind the barn.  It was a perfect 1 mile loop.

I loved all the collections they put in their backpacks...

After our hike we went to lunch at Davanza's pizza.  They had giant pizza slices and they were delicious.

After lunch we explored Main Street.  It was super fun.  We even got to ride on the trolley.

More swimming...

We went to the Alpine slide.  We had a lot of fun on the slide.

Then it was off for ice cream.  Lyla really enjoyed her ice cream cone...

While we were there we celebrated Lyla's birthday.  I can't believe she is 3!  I think she is everyone's favorite.  She is sweet as can be and just as sassy.  She is already a threenager and defiantly will make her opinions known.  She is one smart cookie and can spell her name and is working on writing it.  She loves her shows and defiantly watches more than her fair share.  She loves to read books, color, play pretend and play with the big kids.  We love our Lyla so much!

After we were home from Park City we celebrated with family and cake and ice cream....

Aunt Jen came to town from Texas with Morgan and Brooks.  We had fun hanging out with all the cousins at the pool.  After the pool everyone headed to Todd and Julie's for a BBQ.  Brian was camping with the ym and I had a relief society activity I needed to be to so the kids got to go and hangout with out us.  They had so much fun.  Sadie and Lily even convinced others to join their play.

The next day we met all the cousins at the splash pad.  When we were unloading Aunt Allison pulled up in the fun convertible and Finn got to go for a spin with her.  We had fun at the splash pad...the more cousins at cousin day the better!

That night I was able to join Annie Ferrell at the Timpanogos Temple as she went for the first time.

For the past couple of months Ava has been going to "Gymtoria"  Our Friend Victoria has been teaching gymnastics classes is her back yard to the neighborhood kids.  Ava had a great time and Sadie got to be Victoria's assistant.  They had their final gymtoria class and Ava got a gold medal!  She was pretty excited about that!

Even with all of the fun we have had plenty of time to just hangout at home and play with friends.  Here are some random moments from July....

Finn playing games with Grandpa Bruce

Wendy took Sadie on her "Aunt Wendy Day" for her birthday last month.  They went to Orson Gigi and had lunch and Red Robin.

Ava took a picture of Moosey and her new toy from Grandma and Grandpa

Fancy girls!  Grandma gave them these awesome shades.

We ordered these shirts for the 4th and they didn't arrive in time to wear them on the actual 4th.

Slurpees!  We celebrated 7/11 day

Finn and Benny were playing a game on the floor and Lyla just joined them...

We tried salt painting....

playing the Wii.  Sometimes they get along...

Sadie made herself a business card...

These kids played Monopoly for about 3 hours!

Brian and I were able to go back to the Temple after them being closed for about 12-18 months!  (Pandemic)  We were very happy to be back.

This girl thinks that bedtime means hangout with mom and dad and eat snacks.  Silly girl!

One day Lyla was throwing a fit in her bedroom.  Suddenly it was quiet and when I went to check on her she had fallen asleep like this....

Finn in a delivery  box.

Sadie read book with Ava and ended up falling asleep in bed with her.

Sadie and her friends had fun taking pictures of each other jumping off of the diving boards at the pool.  Here is Victoria and Sadie....

Ava made a fancy swim suit  out of a grocery bag.

Poor Finn got stung by a bee.  He definitely had a reaction. His foot was pretty swollen and painful for a few days.

One day we walked up on the overpass that crosses Bangeter Highway.  It was a fun little adventure.  I have got to soak up these days when little things like this still entertain them!

School starts in just 2 weeks!  I have enjoyed summer, but am looking forward to the routine of school and hopefully cooler temperatures.  I am sure we can squeeze plenty of fun into these last few weeks!
