On Finn's first day of school we had a bit of a surprise. While Finn was at school Sadie called me from school to say her shoe had broken and she needed me to bring her a new pair. Ava and I were at Grandma's so we hurried and got in the van to head over to Sadie's school. While we were stopped at a red light a car headed the opposite direction ran the red light. He then hit a car in the intersection causing him to spin around and crash into me. Luckily Ava and I were mostly ok. She was totally fine other than a little scared. I unfortunately had 2nd degree burns on my wrists from the airbag. I was mostly stressed about how I was going to get back to get Finn from preschool and it being his 1st day I hadn't put the teacher's contact info in my phone yet. Grandma Terry and Grandpa Roger were out of town in Alaska so I couldn't get help from them. Luckily I called a friend in the ward and she was willing to go pick up Finn for me. Ultimately the car was totaled and we had to get a new one. The next day Brian and I went to the tow yard to get our things out of the van. As I looked at the van I realized that we were protected that day! I am so thankful that it ended the way it did. I know Heavenly Father is looking out for us and our needs and protecting us.
here are my wrists at 3 weeks post accident...
I had to keep them wrapped for about 4 weeks. changing the bandages at least twice a day.
4 weeks post accident....
I am sure I will have some kind of scarring/pigment change for the rest of my life.
New car...We really wanted another Honda odyssey because we really liked the one we had. We ended up getting one that is a bit newer than ours was and has a few more bells and whistles than ours, like sunroof, dvd player, power lift gate. We are happy with our new one and are just thankful that Ava and I are safe!
Finn played fall soccer again. This kid loves to play soccer! He has so much fun and plays so well. I love to watch how happy he is on the field.
We were sad to lose Grandpa Kimber. He lived a long life and he will be missed.

The day after Grandpa's funeral Tiffany had a new baby! We were so excited to meet Liv Alice Meldrum. She is such a cutie.
Random September photos....
Ava reading to her duck...
After the accident, we all had to pile into the truck for a few days. The kids always love it when we have to ride in the truck.
One day Ava was napping at Grandma's. When she woke up grandpa went in to get her out and this is what he found....
Cute boy!
walking Finn to school and taking the dog for a ride in the bike....
The night before general conference we knew we would be sitting around all weekend so we headed up the canyon to try and find some fall colors. I think we must have been a little early for lots of the color but we found a little bit. It was a good escape.
