Lyla Faith Taggart

Lyla Faith Taggart
July 23rd 2018
7lbs 2oz 19.5"

Early in the morning of the 23rd of July I was having pretty consistent contractions.  I woke Brian and told him we should probably head to the hospital.  At the hospital they monitored my contractions and we did lots of laps around the hospital trying to get things moving.   Unfortunately I wasn't really progressing so they sent me home.  I was so dissapointed because I was  READY to have this baby.  We headed home and went back to bed.  Wendy was visiting and she was taking the kids to Lagoon with Grandma and Tiffany and Nathan that day.  Brian and I decided to go get lunch and walk around target, hopefully to get things going.  My contractions were still coming but were pretty random.  We ended up coming home and watching a movie.  The contractions began to get stronger but were still not consistent.  Suddenly they became very strong and very close together.  We hurried to the hospital.  I was worried we might not make it! When we walked in they hurried and rushed us into a room.  When the nurse checked, I was at 9!!!! I was worried I wouldn't have time to get an epidural but they got one in just in time.  Within minutes she was here.  We checked into the hospital at 5pm and she was born at 5:41! Luckily Aunt Wendy was already staying at our house so she was able to help with the big kids.

Everyone was so excited to meet Miss Lyla.
First family photo as a family of 6!

Ava was a little disappointed that we didn't name her Saffron.

Grandma Claudia stayed for a week to help with the big kids.  It was such a blessing to have her.  She had lots of fun activities and crafts.

A week after Lyla was born we spent an afternoon up at girls camp.  Lyla even got her very 1st camp shirt!  The theme was peter pan, 2nd start to the right and straight on to the temple.  "You are never lost when you can see the Temple"

Lyla is the sweetest most calm baby.  She seems to have a very mellow personality.  (Let's hope, we could use some mellow at our house)  We are all so happy she has joined our family.  To say she is loved would be an understatement.  There is constantly someone touching her, kissing her and begging to hold her.  Welcome baby girl!
