School is officially done! What a weird year it was. It was sad to not officially say goodbye to the kid's teachers. I got this picture of Finn and Mrs DeHaan when we picked up some materials at the school a few weeks ago. I didn't get a picture of Sadie with Mr. Sagers. (hopefully in the fall) The kids had great teachers and great friends this year. I can't believe we are headed to 2nd &5th grade and Kindergarten in the fall. I am hoping and praying that they will be able to GO back to school. Things are still very up in the air . There have been rumors of the kids doing 1/2 day or every other day schedules with more online learning at home. I guess time will tell.
Mrs. DeHaan was such a good teacher and did so many fun things. She left this pin wheel in our front yard and wrote Finn such a nice letter...
These two planned out their twin outfits, including wavy hair. So cute!
I took the kids and Phoenix, Victoria and Benny to Gardner Village to see the fairies....
More flower planting....
Finn as Daisy Head Maisy...
We went to the Temple Quarry trail for a quick adventure. The kids love it hear because they get to climb lots of giant rocks and throw rocks in the river.
Brain and I went out of the house without our children for the 1st time in MONTHS! It felt so good to be out and to be able to talk. It was rainy and you can't dine in at Cafe Rio currently, so it was dinner in the car.
That night there was an amazing rainbow!
We had a cousin day at Grandma Claudia and Grandpa Bruce's. It was a fun day playing, eating lunch, adults visiting and otter pops.
I had been searching everywhere for a backyard pool. Aunt Andrea mentioned she had seen some at the Walmart near them, so I ran over and got one. The kids are loving it.
Aunt Wendy came to visit! We had several play dates with her and Tiffany and her kids.
I called my mom to see what I should bring to dinner on Sunday. She said she was on her way to Costco and so was I! Selfie time!
We moved Lyla to a big girl seat. It is the end of an era. No more infant car seats at our house. I think when they move to the big car seat they suddenly turn into big kids. (tear) She has loved showing it off to everyone that will come see.
This weeks adventure was to Rocky Mouth Falls. It was a fun hike to an awesome waterfall.
Cousin day round 2. We had a pool party at Grandma and Grandpa's.
It's all fun and games until you hit your Grandma in the face with the ball!
Happy Father's Day to the best guy around...
We are all so lucky to have him for our very own forever!
Another outdoor adventure....
Gloria Falls
This was a beautiful hike. It was probably the hardest we have done this far, but the kids did great. The falls were so pretty and the hike had some amazing views. It was a bit wet and muddy and we even saw a small patch of snow! We had a tough morning getting moving and getting chores done, so we ended up doing this in the evening. I am loving all of these adventures.
every one say "Gloria"
our 6th hike this summer...
willow heights lake. This hike was up Big Cotton Wood Canyon. It was probably the hardest we have done yet. It was pretty steep! Some of the kids were a little whiny on the way up, but everyone agreed it was fun on the way home. The lake was more like a pond, but it was beautiful. We had lunch and fed the ducks (like 3 of them). There were not very many people there.
Our Sadie Lady turned 10!
I can't believe we have a ten year old. We had a fun day celebrating Sadie. She wanted some time with just she and I so we went to Claire's and found some fun new earrings and she came along with me to Costco. (probably not her 1st choice) We also went to Leatherby's for ice cream!
don't worry, the whole family shared this...
She got some fun gifts, including a mannequin head, a "fit bit" watch, and lots of doll things.
Sadie is such a fun girl. She is smart as can be and does really well in school. She likes to sing and dance and play with friends. She loves to play dolls and swim. She loves her siblings (even if she doesn't always show it) She writes the best notes and gives great snuggles. We are so thankful she is part of our family. It is fun to see the amazing young lady she is becoming. Happy Birthday Sadie! We officially have a "Tweenager"
at her 10 year well visit...
We were finally able to have our Taggart Family monthly birthday celebration. It was good to be together again.
Lyla playing hide and seek...
Counting with Grandma...
Where is Lyla?...
Random June....
We bumped Grandma Terry and Grandpa Roger to official retirement status with new rocking chairs for the front porch.
Just looking for some shade...
"Mom, take a picture of me and my spikes!"
I took this picture while out on a walk on the canal by our house.
These kids have really been into playing Monopoly. We have had several days filled with hours of this game, and a few arguments from it. I sat and played with them one Sunday afternoon and after two hours of sitting on the floor, I thought I would never get up and my body hurt like crazy! (Getting old is hard!)
Morning conversation with Ava....
Ava:Mom, I know what I want for dessert.
Me: Like for tonight after dinner?
Ava: No, for after my breakfast!
So strawberries, chocolate and whipped cream at 8am it was!
Sadie and Ava have been playing dolls all the time... that means dolls are everywhere!
Ava and Victoria have twinner swimsuits.
We had our dental checkups this month. Everyone did great and NO CAVITIES!
Our post dentist tradition is to eat dinner at JCW'S. This was the first time we have dined in at a restaurant since March! Things are still so crazy from the pandemic.
One night mom and dad went to the mini girls camp for bishopric night and I asked The Gourleys if the kids come to their house. Turns out they had baseball so Trisha took all of the kids to the games! They had a blast!
I know I have said it before, but I really love having this window at the front door. All of the kids have loved to stand here and look out. Lyla is no different, she loves to see the birds.
Cute Finn working on his Come Follow Me Journal...
Come Follow me at Grandma's house...
We ventured out to a park! Again so weird. I feel like I don't know what to do and what not to do. During this whole thing you have people all over the board on what they think is ok to do and not do. I feel like we have been pretty cautious and have tried to limit going to crowded places. We definitely stay home way more than we typically do, especially for Summer. It felt good to get out at the park with friends.
This made me laugh...
