August 2020

We started August off on the right foot with a fun trip to Pineview Reservoir.
We went with the extended Taggart family including some of Brian's Aunts and Uncles and their families.

We stopped at Burger King for dinner on our way up.  Cute kids in their crowns.

Brooklyn, Lily, Ava, Sadie and Finn

I could not get over this view from our tent!  Seriously so beautiful!

It didn't take us long to get down to the beach.

Our kids are always happy when they are with cousins.  We had so much fun in the water and spending time with so many that we love.

Grandma Claudia and Grandpa Bruce

One of my favorite things was the dragon flies that came out in the evening.  I seriously have never seen so many!

We are hoping this is our new yearly tradition.  We had so much fun!\

The kids have been dying to have a lemonade stand.  They were beyond shocked and excited when I agreed that they could have one.  They made zucchini chocolate chip cookies and lemonade to sale.  They all put on their face masks and got to work.  Our neighbors and friends and family were very supportive and they ended up making quite a good chunk of money!  Is it really even summer if you don't have a lemonade stand?

I took the kids mini golfing one day....read my social media post below to see how that went...

Our ward primary had a neighborhood bike parade.  The kids had so much fun!  This is them with our amazing primary chorister, Lexie Davis.  All of the primary kids love her and it isn't hard to see why!

Why are kids eating corn on the cob the cutest?  Also, why is corn on the cob so delicious?  I am sure it has nothing to do with all of the butter and salt we smother it in....

The kids and I walked to get snow cones one night, while Brian was at a YM activity.  Just trying to squeeze in all of the the summer fun before it is gone!

We went with Tiffany,Nathan and kids to Black ridge Reservoir in Herriman.  We had a great time playing in the water on paddle boards, kayaks and floats.

Beck loves Good & Plenty candy, just like his Grandpa Roger.

Ava had a birthday! 5 years old!
This girl is a crazy combination of spunk and sweet.  She loves cucumbers, strawberries and chocolate ice cream!  Her favorite mode of transportation is somersaulting.  She is smart and she will be starting kindergarten in just a few weeks.  She is a daddy's girl through and through, but she tolerates me most days.  She tells it how it is and isn't afraid to speak her mind.  We are so thankful for our Ava Baba!

she decorated her own cupcake and kept saying this is the birthday girl's cupcake!

She received lots of fun gifts.

After her party these three magically turned into super heroes and had so much fun running around the back yard.

Earlier in the day Sadie and her friend, Phe gave Ava a spa day....

Wendy video called to say happy birthday!

Back to school!
What a crazy time!  I never imagined I would have to send my kids back to school in masks.  I am so proud of how resilient they are.  They were so excited to get back to school with their friends.  Finn started 2nd Grade and is in Mrs. Smith's class.  He is just excited that Benny is in his class.
Sadie is in 5th grade and in Mrs. Lewis's class.  Ava starts kindergarten one week later.  I am praying that they get to finish out this school year at school and obviously that everyone stays safe!

Ava actually didn't get to start kindergarten until the 1st part of September, but I will post here to keep them all together.  She was so excited to start kindergarten! It was hard to wait her turn.

Being a mom is hard! Being a stay at home mom is REALLY hard. Being a mom during a global pandemic is hard!I am thankful that
I am able to be home with them, but sometimes I miss adult interaction and such.  I ran away from home one Saturday, because I am just so exhausted! I am tired of them fighting, I am tired of them not listening, I am tired of fighting them to be responsible and do their chores and still feeling like everything is a mess.  I am tired of them asking to eat cake and ice cream for breakfast, I feel like I try So hard and still feel like I am a hamster spinning my wheel......I am just tired!  So, I stopped at sodalicious for a drink and drove to the church by the temple to park, and think, and cry!  I am sure school starting will help a lot!  It has been a long almost 6 months of having kids home and I think we all need a little space from one another.  I love them, I do, but I am just tired.  Praying that school doesn't get shut down again!  I figured I should document because you know "I am going to miss this one day" and I don't doubt that I will miss these days, but it doesn't mean that it isn't hard.

We made it out on another adventure.  It has been awhile since we got out anywhere.  Silver Lake was beautiful! It was a perfect evening.  I have been wanting to go to Silver Lake for a while, but always heard that it was always crazy busy!  It isn't really fun to go enjoy the outdoors when there are tons of other people there.  Luckily I think because we went up in the evening, it wasn't too busy.  There is a boardwalk all along the lake and the views were just absolutely beautiful!

Ava was very into having her picture taken...She kept saying "We need 5 year old pictures"

On the way home Ava really wanted Brian's phone to take pictures.  She got some pretty cool shots.

1st day of school!

Random August...

Finn and Benny building with mega blocks.  These boys would play video games ALL day.  I have to stop them and have them take electronic breaks and it is so great when they do!  They always come up with the best  creations.

Kelsey sent me this amazing llama mask!  I am considering wearing it to drop my kids off on the 1st day of school. ;)

For come follow me one week, we talked about building our lives on a firm foundation.  Grandpa had built a fancy tower outside on a piece of cardboard.  He asked the kids to come help him move it.  As they moved it, the cardboard broke and the tower came tumbling down!  Grandpa said the look on their faces was priceless!  They all worked together to build a new tower on a much firmer foundation.  I am thankful that we get to learn about the gospel together.

Everyone loves baby Drew....

cute sisters...

book time....

Selfie....

Finn's title of liberty....I like that he blacked out his two front teeth, and of course he included Benny.

My cutest garden helper.  She loves to pick tomatoes.

Just having a little ice cream....

I have been having fun taking pictures of flowers around our yard.  Flowers are much easier to photograph than children.  I am thankful for their little pops of color and happiness they bring into the world.

I am not sure how we miss zucchini growing in the garden.  We missed some pretty big ones! They probably would have won us a blue ribbon at the fair!

These two cute girls got haircuts...

Dress up at Grandma and Grandpa's...

Ava created this cute little house and "Mud Man'...
