June 2021

The end of 5th, 2nd and Kindergarten!  The kids all did fantastic this year and had great teachers.  I am so thankful we were able to go to school in person this year.  There were many places throughout the country that did remote learning most of the year.  I am not sure I would survive!  I can't believe Sadie will be in 6th grade next year!  She is excited to be on student council next year.

Sadie with Mrs. Lewis

Finn with Mrs. Smith

Finn is a smart kid and does great work!  He loves to be at school especially recess.  He is excited to be in 3rd grade and will be in Ms. Bair's class who Sadie had for 3rd grade and now she lives in our ward.

Ava with Mrs. Nelson...

Ava learned so much this year!  She rocked Kindergarten (just like her hat says)  She is really excited for 1st grade.  She will be in Mrs. Searle's class and she is a friend of ours because she used to live in our ward.  We are so excited Ava gets to be in her class.

I can't believe how grown up they are.  Motherhood is this weird balance between  wanting them to grow up and wishing they would stay small forever.  Ava  went in the morning her last week of kindergarten and my heart was a little sad as I walked home with just Lyla.  I don't know what she is going to do next year when they are all in school all day next year.

On the last day of school we hosted a popsicle party at our house after school

It was HOT and everyone was looking for shade...

This is me not sure how I am going to survive summer....
We have lots of fun things planned and I am just hoping to keep everyone alive, entertained and out of trouble!

We made a summer fun calendar. ....

We went to Gardner Village to see the fairies....

I broke my "no slime in my house" rule on day 2 of summer!  (Desperate times call for desperate measures)  We went to the library and they had kits to make slime.  The kids had fun and the mess was minimal.

Fun at the library....

We had our first cousin day of the summer. We met up with Aunt Julie and her 3 youngest at the zoo.  We always have fun with cousins.

Brian and I went out with his siblings and parents to see Mama Mia at the Draper amphitheater.  It was a beautiful night and a fun show.

We enjoyed Sunday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Taggart's.  The kids loved squeezing in the teepee for dessert...

Ava had to go to the dentist to have a tooth taken out because the baby tooth was not coming out and the permanent tooth was already in.  she wrote the cutest note to the tooth fairy.  She wrote on the inside "Dear tooth fairy, is your castle made of teeth?"

She was excited to earn a "Big" frosty! for being so brave.

We bought a summer pool pass.  I think we will be spending lots of time here!  Finn and Sadie even go off the diving board now!  Flips and cannon balls, all kinds of fun.

We enjoyed a fun ward activity at the church.  The kids played lots of field games.

Happy Father's Day to Brian.  He even got a Sunday afternoon nap!  What more could a Dad wish for?

We went camping at Tanners Flat.  We mostly had fun....sometimes too much together time isn't the best.  I am hoping the kids just remember the good times.  We played games, enjoyed the camp fire and sang songs, hiked Gloria Falls, played at the river and did lots of exploring.

When I asked Sadie what she wanted to do for her birthday she said "I just want to do something with Lily!"  So we planned a birthday  party/cousin day.  We invited Julie and kids for pizza and ice cream at our house and then off we went to Altitude Trampoline Park.  We paid for 3 hours of jumping wondering if that would be way too much, NO WAY!  These kids jumped the entire 3 hours and were still begging for more when it was time to go.

I can't believe Sadie is 11!  I probably say that every birthday, but it really is crazy to think!  We love our Sadie so much and are so thankful she is part of our family.  She is kind, smart, she loves to cook/bake (She even made her own birthday dessert...grasshopper pie) she loves to play with friends and could probably live in the swimming pool.  She was very excited to get an echo dot for her birthday.

Aunt Julie sent me this picture of Sadie and I 11 years ago!  WOW!

For her birthday, Sadie's friend, Victoria gave her a girls day.  She paid for them to go to lunch at Sonic, to the park and to see the movie Peter Rabbit 2.  Sadie said it was the best day ever!  I am thankful for my kid's good friends!

Random June.....

We are going to summer movies with the Gourleys...

Summer morning vibes....This is how I found Lyla sleeping one morning.....

Ava's fancy goggles....

Cute cousins....

Finn got to hike Ensign Peak with his activity day group....

Ava was excited to spot her name at the store...

Summer crafts....

We tried bubble painting.  The kids had fun...

our first garden produce...We are so excited to have peas this year.  We have tried in the past to grow peas and didn't have much success.  We covered the garden with bird netting this year and it has helped a lot!  apparently the birds were eating our peas!

Park fun with cousins...

The first month of summer is done!  6 more weeks to go!
We are having fun and surviving.  We are looking forward to more summer fun.
