Oh the months of January and February, they are definitely not my favorite. I don't like the cold and they just feel so blah. We did manage to have some fun though.
We ended up having a week of virtual school as there was a rise in Covid cases. The kids did a good job managing school at home. I am glad that it was just for a week this time!
We ended up having our turn with Covid.
We all (except Lyla) had headaches, fever, body aches/chills. It was not very fun, but we all survived it just fine. We are thankful to have that over for awhile at least. We were shown so much love from Family and friends while we were sick. So many people dropped of treats, dinner, and ever fun activities to keep us busy. I am so thankful for our tribe of people. Poor Sadie had to miss her dance recital. That was probably the biggest bummer about the whole thing. The kids even said "This is better than Christmas!" Because so many people delivered so many fun surprises.
We went to our niece/cousin Hannah Taggart's mission "farewell". She leaves for Mexico in February. We are excited for her. After the farewell we stopped at Grandma and Grandpa Taggart's house to visit and play games.
Ava celebrated 100 days of school!
cutest scooter gang in the neighborhood....
I loved this saying on the ice cream carton...
Ava lost another tooth!....
Lyla made a cute pearler bead cat. It looks just like our friend Phoenix's cat, Salem.
Finn and Ava went with our neighbor Hunter and his mom for a hamburger after school one day.
At Valentines day we made sugar cookies with Grandma Terry and Tiffany and her kids.
We went to Scheels to kill some time on a Saturday. The kids had fun. We even rode the Farris Wheel...
A cute valentine from Ava....
Finn got these glasses in his Valentine bag. Looking good!
We picked Ava up for a lunch date!
We had a day of fake spring and we spent the afternoon at the school playground. We even flew the kite....Is it real spring yet?
Crazy goggle girls in the bathtub...
Brian and I got to go to the Hale Center Theatre to see Treasure Island, because his parents were not able to use their tickets. It was such a fun show!
2/22/22 landed on a Tuesday!
The school celebrated with Tu Tu day. You could wear a Tu Tu, or tube socks, or something else that started with T.....
I made Lyla a Astronaut helmet. She loves it!
Lyla and I had tickets to go to the zoo's $2 zoo day with friends. Well, we woke up to a freezing cold day! Our friends bailed, but Lyla was adamant that she still wanted to go. I agreed and off we went. We lasted about an hour, but she was happy as could be the entire time. We were freezing, but I am glad we did it.
18 degrees!!!!
She fell asleep on the drive home and ended up sleeping there for almost 2 hours. I guess I wore her out!
Looking for the kid's snow boots in the morning...Oh I found them frozen in a pile on the back deck! Is it spring yet???
Sadie was able to go to the temple for the first time! Brian and I were able to take her just the 3 of us. Getting an appointment is difficult, so we checked her out of school and Brian missed work. It was wonderful being there with her.
Finn received the wildcat of the month award. He was recognized for contributing to the community. Way to go Finn!
These two did a session of swim lessons and they loved every minute! Time to get them signed up for more!
Finn has been playing indoor soccer with his friend Benny.
Finn has also been on a paper airplane kick. He has been making so many airplanes! They are all over the place.
Ava made this for Martin Luther King day. We are all wishing Covid will just go away!
Finn finished indoor soccer with most of his Copper Mountain team.
What a difference a day makes. I found this 1st note from Ava one day after she had left for school. It made my heart so happy....
Then the next day I got this one from her....
Motherhood is a crazy roller coaster of emotions. I am just holding on for dear life!
Good bye January and February! See ya next year. Is it spring yet?!
