January 2019

January was filled with lots of random stuff....

We were excited to go check out the new butterfly biosphere at Thanksgiving point.  We invited Grandma and Grandpa Taggart to go with.  It was super fun.  We loved walking through and seeing all of the butterflies. They give out magnifying glasses to the kids to use while looking at the butterflies and Ava loved that! It was so cute to watch her walk around with her magnifying glass examining everything.

Finn started basketball.  He really enjoyed it.  They didn't play many games, but did more of a clinic set up where they were able to learn lots of basic skills.  This was good for Finn.  I think soccer is still his favorite, but he really started to understand basketball and even made several points in the games they did play.  He loved having lots of his friends on his team.

Sadie and Victoria playing on my phone at one of the games..

We had a big snow storm on Martin Luther King Day.  Luckily the kids didn't have school and it wasn't Dad's on call day, so we got to stay home! The kids had fun playing with the neighbor kids.

Lyla and I stayed warm inside.

This is what my front entry way starts to look like when it snows and all the neighbor kids come over.

We spent an afternoon at High Jump, an indoor trampoline/blowup place. The kids loved it.  It is always nice to get out of the house in the winter and burn some energy.

Lyla is now 6 months old!  It is crazy to believe.  She is sitting up like a champ ,she has found her voice and is getting louder every day.  Everyone loves her and she loves the big kids.  I think she is getting ready for teeth to come because she is often doing the "grandpa grin".  We sure love this girl!

The kids like to build "nests" with pillows all around her.

We tried to go to the free admission day at the zoo.  However when we got there and the parking lot was crazy we decided we didn't want to join the chaos, so we headed to Wheeler Farm to see the animals there.  Tiffany and Beck joined us.  It was freeeezing, wet and muddy but the kids had fun and it really was beautiful.

Dad had a few days at the Green Conference that is at the expo center in Sandy, so we met up with him for lunch one day.

One day Finn was playing with Lyla.  He gave her some of his trophies to look at.  But not to touch.

Movie night snuggles

If Ava takes a nap, even a short 10-15min nap she does not go to sleep at night.  We try very hard to keep her awake during the day so that bedtime wont be a struggle.  Sometimes no matter how we try...this happens.

When we were doing light the world in December.  Sadie had an idea to give everyone a "mailbox" on their bedroom door so that we could leave each other notes.  It has been fun to send and receive letters.  The kids have loved it! Here are some cute notes that have been shared.

Oh Ava!  She loves super heroes....

She even dressed up Lyla

Reindeer are better than people....

Sadie was taking a selfie so that she could check out her hair she had done. I photo bombed her picture and said "ha photo bomb!" She said "More like photo Mom!"

Ava tucked in for the night with her snow hat on.
