This year the girls have been taking dance. They got to perform at the festival of trees. They both did a great job and we enjoyed walking around the festival and seeing all of the amazing trees and gingerbread houses.
Sinterklaas came again! We love this tradition and all that it includes. It always makes me feel closer to my ancestors when we celebrate their traditions.
Finn had his 1st grade Christmas program. He rocked out to lots of fun Christmas songs.
Brian and I were excited when he was able to get tickets to the Tabernacle Choir's Christmas Concert. It was an amazing show and was so nice to get out for the evening.
Taggart family Christmas party. We always have a blast with the Taggart bunch. Good food, good laughs, and lots of singing.
Sadie had her 4th grade Grinch program. She did a great job singing and rocking out on the recorder.
Sadie's friend, Phoenix played the Grinch. She did a great job.
The program was right during Lyla's nap time...this is what happened to her.
We made it downtown to see the lights. This will be the last year that they will be the way they are, because the SLC Temple will be closing for 4 years for renovations. It was a quick visit since we had kids that were hungry, cold and tired of walking. Our friend Vanessa joined us again this year. We saw the Macey's candy windows and the fire and water show at City Creek.
On Christmas Eve during the day we went to see the candy windows in South Jordan and then to Gardner village to see the elves.
That night we went to Grandma Terry's. We enjoyed dinner and playing and visiting and then we decorated Christmas trees. Then it was home to bed so Santa could come.
Christmas Morning was fun. Sadie was up at 6am, we managed to hold her off for about 45 min before we woke Finn and Ava. We let Lyla sleep. The kids were so excited to see what Santa had brought...
here are a few highlights...
Finn was excited for a new remote control car
Sadie really wanted a new doll and accessories...
Ava got a doll house that is as big as she is!
I think Lyla was a bit overwhelmed, The older kids opened all of their gifts before she even woke up. When she did wake up they all ran in to get her and then they were "helping" her open presents faster than she could even see them.
After we opened gifts we headed back to Grandma's for our traditional breakfast of green pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream.
The big kids got warm snugly blankets from Grandma and Grandpa. They were excited about that.
I am so thankful this time of year as we celebrate our Saviors birth. I am so thankful for Him and for all he has done for me. I know that because he came to earth and atoned for our sins and then died and was resurrected, Heavenly Father's plan works. Because of Him, I can be forgiven and try again. Because of Him, I can be with my family forever. Because of Him, I have peace.
Merry Christmas!
New years eve...
We went to Tiffany and Nathan's house for NYE. The usual Child's family dinner crew was there. The kids had a blast jumping on their bounce house and running crazy in the basement. We called it a night about 9pm and everyone was definitely ready for bed. It is the end of the year and then end of the decade. 2019 was good to us and it went by so fast. Here's to a happy and healthy 2020!
Grandpa Roger took some fun pictures....
Random December...
We are starting them young on the Saturday morning chores. Lyla was having too much fun helping Sadie washing mirrors and glass tables.
Lyla had her 1st check up at the dentist. She did such a good job! She didn't even cry.
Crazy dress up girls
One Sunday this month, the primary went around caroling to each of the Sunday school classes. It was adorable.
Miss Lyla is obsessed with "Mou" Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She loves to watch Mickey Mouse Club House and she always needs her stuffed Minnies when she goes to bed.
Brian sent this picture of his view at work one morning. He is lucky to work in such a beautiful place every day.
For show and tell at Ava's preschool one day they were supposed to bring something yellow. We found the Sneetch and Ava decided that is what she wanted to take, but she took it up a notch by adding the yellow Klopen (wooden shoe) slippers.
Hawkeye got a face lift....
These goggles have made for so many great pictures. Lyla's turn...
Sleepy Dad and Ava
Sadie and her friends think of some crazy things to do.
