March and April 2018
I was singing "If you're happy and you know it" with Ava, and this was her "your face will surely show it" face...
For our YW New Beginnings night our theme was Peace, Love and Personal Progress. With a focus on finding peace in the Savior, because the mutual theme for the year is Peace in Christ (D&C 19:23) We had a fun tye dying tshirts the activity night before new beginnings.
The Jordan River Temple has been closed for renovations for the last 2 years. I am so excited to be involved with the youth at this time because they have so many amazing activities coming up that will lead up to the cultural celebration the day before the re dedication. We had fun attending a youth only open house at the Temple.
Mr Finn had a birthday!! I can't believe he is five. He had a super hero cake and enjoyed it with our family and Tiffany and her kids. We are so lucky to have Finn in our family. He is a smart, funny, helpful kid. He gives the best snuggles! He loves games, legos, soccer and playing with friends. He is quick to share and is often thinking of others. He is also very good and teasing his sisters. I love him so much! (except for the teasing part) He is my favorite 5 year old.
Grandma Claudia and Grandpa Bruce gave him money to pick out a toy and this is what he chose...
Looking good in his new suit from Grandma Terry and Grandpa Roger...
Me at 20 weeks pregnant! 20 more to go!
Finn drew this of him and his friend Austin..
Ava playing at Grandma Terry's house.
We renewed our pass to thanksgiving point and headed for a visit there with Tiffany and her kids. I love that every time we go, we find something new to do.
Grandma Claudia has this spoon. I had to send a picture to my siblings because we had plenty of practice running from the wooden spoon when we were little.
For FHE the week before Easter we made resurrection rolls again. I started this last year and the kids remembered and wanted to do it again. It may be a new tradition. The kids love that after you bake the rolls the marshmallow is gone! A great reminder of the empty tomb.
Wendy surprised us with a visit the weekend of Easter. She colored eggs with us one night.
Fun playing with Aunt Wendy at the school park with Beck, Tiffany and Liv.
We also had General Conference this weekend. We Sustained President Russell M Nelson as our new prophet. We also welcomed two new apostles, Elder Gong and Elder Suarez. I love conference weekend and the opportunity to listen to our leaders. My kids are not always as quiet as I would hope, but I hope they are learning to love it too.
On the Monday following Easter, we had our family Easter egg hunt with the Taggarts. I had heard about this Easter walk in Alpine and thought we should go check it out. It was a neat experience. We were able to go inside the tomb and think about Jesus's Death and resurrection. When we were in the tomb Ava kept asking "where is Jesus?" " He is not here for he is RISEN!"
After our visit to the Easter walk we headed to Aunt Andrea's for the Easter egg hunt. The kids enjoyed the trampoline too....
Sometimes your sisters drive you crazy, so you eat your breakfast under the table.
Our friend Vanessa invited Sadie to go check out the hello kitty food truck with her. Sadie had so much fun spending the day with Vanessa. They visited the food truck and then went and wondered the mall. Sadie even got her make up done at a make up counter.
We were so excited to go and tour the open house of the remodeled Jordan River Temple. Being in the temple with my family was so awesome and made me cry. (hence the red puffy eyes in the photos) The kids enjoyed it. After we left I asked them each what their favorite parts were. Sadie said she loved the brides room and the pretty lights. Finn said he liked the statue of Jesus and the stain glass windows. Ava said her favorite part were the booties we wore over our shoes! lol (I think she just likes to say the word booties)
We went to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving point. We had a fun time despite the crowds of people and the hot weather. This year they had a fun scavenger hunt where you could look for wooden shoes hidden around the gardens. Each shoe was named after an Olympic speed skater from the Netherlands. The kids loved looking for the shoes.
Finn has started another season of soccer. This season he is on the pink team. He said he is just glad they are not blue again!
The kids with Grandma Claudia at Sunday dinner. Grandma and Grandpa Taggart just started a new mission as a senior couple at Mutual Dell a girls camp up American Fork Canyon.
The weather in April is so crazy! These two picture were taken one week apart.....
April 17th..
April 24th..
Random stuff....
I love when my kids curl up and read.
Sadie reading with Ava.
Finn and Ava enjoying a snack in their fort they built.
Seriously? Snow clothes in April?
Ava's messy smoothie face.
Fun at the park.
Both Finn and Ava had a 24hr bug. Fevers and snuggles.
Ava checking out the flowers growing in our yard.
Finn drew this picture for Grandma Terry. He wanted to include their ages on it. Grandma 72, Finn 5. He ran out of room trying to squeeze his name in by the #5.
Snap chat fun...
one day we were having lots of wind. I was at target with Finn and Ava, as we were leaving and I was getting the kids out of the cart and into the car, the wind picked up and took my cart rolling across the parking lot. It was going FAST! I took off running after it but I couldn't catch it before it crashed into the back of a car. The cart totally dented this car! I ended up having to pay to fix the dent. That was an expensive trip to target and I didn't have much to show for it. I would have loved to watch the surveillance video from the parking lot and watched as the crazy pregnant lady went running after the cart to try and stop it!
